Job summary

RSE is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in‑house, multidisciplinary design team in the UK water sector. You will develop mechanical design aspects from inception to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.

The role covers optioneering/FEED through to construction support and as‑built, liaising with stakeholders and equipment suppliers, and working on multiple projects with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical design for municipal water or wastewater is highly desirable.
• Experience in a multidiscipline design team.
• Experience at all design stages—from optioneering/FEED to construction support and as-built is desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design aspects from inception to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.
• Participate in project review meetings, safety studies (HAZOP), etc.
• Consider health, safety, quality, and environmental matters.
• Liaise with stakeholders for projects.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers to develop design solutions.
