Job summary

RSE is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Asset Management division on a permanent basis to deliver mechanical designs across the UK. You will work within an in‑house multidisciplinary team on projects from scoping through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.

You will contribute to reviews and safety studies (HAZOP) and handle multiple projects while liaising with stakeholders and suppliers to develop robust design solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Mechanical design engineering experience in municipal water/wastewater is desirable.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design teams and all design stages from optioneering to construction support.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design aspects from inception to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with client specs and current standards.
• Participate in project reviews and safety studies such as HAZOP.
• Consider health, safety, quality and environmental matters in projects.
• Liaise with stakeholders and equipment suppliers to develop design solutions.
