Job summary

SEA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support for product design, development, testing, manufacture and in-service activities. Based at Beckington, Bristol or Barnstaple with regular visits to Barnstaple, the role offers flexible working and a salary circa £40k dependent on experience.

You will produce 3D CAD models, drawings and technical reports, and work with customers, suppliers and project teams to resolve engineering challenges.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an upper second-class Honours degree in a relevant discipline or have equivalent job-related experience.
• Working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in the generation of technical documentation and drawing packs to BS8888 and relevant standards
• Experienced user of 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) both for modelling and drawing creation
• Understanding of various aspects of Design for Excellence (DfX), including Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Integration and Sustainability
• Knowledge Of Military and Commercial Mechanical & Environmental design standards including Def Stans, Mil Specs, CE/UKCA marking is preferred but not essential

Responsibilities
