Job summary

E3 Recruitment in Wakefield seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver end-to-end designs from concept to production drawings for a multi-facility engineering group. The role requires strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on experience with 3D CAD (AutoCAD).

It is an on-site position with 37.5 hours and a competitive package including pension and private health. You will work with production and engineering teams to ensure compliance with BS/ISO

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and machinery design.
• Experience designing and developing special purpose machinery.
• Proficient in engineering calculations and interpreting numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical designs from concept through to production drawings.
• Manage project workloads, schedules and budgets to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop cost-effective design solutions and manage scope changes.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical issues with engineering leadership.
• Conduct design reviews, calculations, and risk assessments to ensure safety and quality.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and traceability systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to deliver optimized design solutions.
