Job summary

SC ENGINEERING in West Yorkshire is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business. The role involves taking projects from initial concept through to manufacture, producing 3D models and detailed drawings, and working closely with production teams.

The candidate should have strong 3D CAD experience, with Autodesk Inventor preferred; other CAD packages are also welcome. This is a permanent, office-based position offering the chance to work on specialist

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or in a similar position.
• Strong 3D CAD experience.
• Autodesk Inventor experience preferred; other CAD packages considered.

Responsibilities

• Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business based in West Yorkshire.

The company designs and manufactures specialist engineered products and containment solutions used across highly regulated industries. This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to join a business where they can be involved in projects from initial concept through to manufacture.

The Role

• Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings
• Designing mechanical components, assemblies and systems
• Taking designs from initial concept through to manufacture
• Working on new product development and existing product improvements
• Producing bills of materials and supporting technical documentation
• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams
• Supporting projects throughout the design and build process
• Ensuring designs meet customer and project requirements

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or in a similar position
• Strong 3D CAD experience
• Autodesk Inventor experience would be preferred
• Candidates using other 3D CAD packages will also be considered
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes
• Experience producing detailed drawings for manufacture
• Ability to design mechanical assemblies and components
• Experience with containment systems, cleanroom equipment, special purpose machinery or similar engineered products would be advantageous
