Job summary

Yorkshire in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to drive concept designs through to production drawings for specialised machinery. You will manage project scopes, timeframes and budgets while applying cost-conscious design solutions to meet customer requirements and standards.

You will perform design reviews, calculations and risk assessments, ensuring high quality documentation and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience designing and developing special purpose machinery.
• Proficient in 3D CAD design (AutoCAD essential).

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts to production drawings and ensure compliance with BS/ISO standards.
• Manage project workloads, schedules and budgets to deliver on time.
• Communicate progress, risks and technical issues with engineering leadership.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and calculations for safety and performance.
