Job summary

Bimplus, a long-established M&E consultancy in the UK, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a experienced team and work from initial design through to project completion.

You will design mechanical systems for data centres, healthcare and other complex environments, producing calculations, drawings and specifications, and attending site surveys and testing as required. The role offers progression toward Senior Engineer as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design engineering for commercial or industrial projects.
• Ability to produce mechanical calculations and specifications.
• Proficient with IES, Dialux and CAD software.
• Willingness to attend sites for surveys and testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical designs, calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Design and route pipework, ductwork and airflow systems.
• Prepare plans, specifications and schedules for mechanical works.
• Produce reports supporting design concepts and ensure standards compliance.
• Attend sites for surveys, inspections and testing.
• Respond to RFIs and support clients through the design process.
• Review installation progress, quality and performance.
• Support the design team with operation and ongoing maintenance requirements.
• Take projects through from initial design through to completion.
