Job summary

Jackson Hogg is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver mechanical building services designs, focusing on HVAC and piping, with BIM modelling across UK and international projects.

You will work closely with design, engineering and project teams to ensure accurate calculations, model integrity and compliant documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and pipework systems.
• Ability to prepare detailed engineering calculations.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Understanding of BIM processes, model coordination and design workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Full UK driving licence and experience on data centre or critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC and pipework installations.
• Produce detailed design calculations and technical documentation.
• Develop engineering solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives.
• Create and maintain mechanical BIM models in line with project standards and workflows.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams to support clash detection and model integration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and best practice.
• Maintain model quality, data integrity and version control throughout project delivery.

Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services & BIM)

We're partnering with an ambitious organisation operating within complex power, cooling and resilience solutions for business-critical facilities worldwide. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of technically complex projects from concept through to completion.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally. You'll play a key role in the design and development of mechanical building services systems, while also supporting BIM modelling and coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with design, engineering and project delivery teams, you'll contribute to projects where quality, technical excellence and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities
