Job summary

Blueprint Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading International Multidisciplinary Consultancy. Hybrid working from London offices on high-profile Education, Healthcare, commercial and Critical Infrastructure projects.

The role leads design and delivery of mechanical building services, develops strategies, performs thermal and energy analysis, coordinates with disciplines, ensures on-time, on-budget delivery, and mentors junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in the building services industry.
• Proven experience leading projects through concept, detailed design and delivery stages.
• Strong experience on Residential, Healthcare and Commercial projects.
• Demonstrable experience within multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems.
• Develop mechanical design strategies, concepts, and detailed solutions.
• Undertake and oversee thermal, comfort, and energy analysis of buildings and spaces.
• Prepare and manage models, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, architects, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical approvals.
• Support sustainability and low-carbon design approaches across projects.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established, International Multidisciplinary Consultancy. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis from our client's London offices. You will work on technically challenging and high-profile Education, Healthcare, commercial, and Critical Infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems


• Develop mechanical design strategies, concepts, and detailed solutions


• Undertake and oversee thermal, comfort, and energy analysis of buildings and spaces


• Prepare and manage models, drawings, specifications, and reports


• Coordinate with internal disciplines, architects, clients, and external stakeholders


• Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards


• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians


• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical approvals


• Support sustainability and low-carbon design approaches across projects

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in the building services industry (4-8 years)


• Proven experience leading projects through concept, detailed design, and delivery stages


• Strong experience working on Residential, Healthcare and Commercial projects


• Demonstrable experience working within multidisciplinary design teams


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Software is essential


• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and design standards
