Job summary

George Blake Limited is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team in the UK. You will take concepts through to manufacture, producing detailed 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs while collaborating with production and other internal teams.

You will apply strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor), apply robust design principles and actively contribute to multiple projects, ensuring cost-effective, reliable solutions across diverse machinery

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Design Engineer or similar.
• Strong 3D CAD experience using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing and engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and manage changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
• A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline would be advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing, machinery, automation, or product development environments is beneficial.

My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team and support the design and development of a range of mechanical products and systems.

This is a great opportunity for a practical, technically minded engineer who enjoys taking designs from concept through to manufacture and working closely with engineering, production and other internal teams.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
