Job summary

Integral Staff Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing building services consultancy based in Westerham. You will lead mechanical design for residential and commercial schemes, taking ownership of projects and delivering high‑quality work with minimal supervision.

You’ll coordinate with BIM and electrical engineers, support junior staff and help drive projects through to completion. Hybrid role: 1 day WFH per week, salary up to £65,000 DOE.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Westerham, Kent
Salary: Up to 65,000 DOE
Hybrid: 1 day working from home per week

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing building services consultancy based in Westerham.

This is an opportunity for an established Mechanical Engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of projects, managing their own workload and delivering work with minimal supervision.

The business has a strong pipeline of residential and commercial projects and is looking for someone who can come in, hit the ground running and become a dependable senior member of the engineering team.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for the mechanical design and delivery of projects across the residential and commercial sectors, working on a variety of substantial schemes.

You’ll take projects through the relevant stages, coordinate with other disciplines and ensure designs are delivered to a high technical standard.

This is very much a role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own projects rather than needing constant direction.

You’ll also play an important role within the wider team, providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers as they develop.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in mechanical building services design
• Experience working across residential and/or commercial projects
• Confidence independently managing and delivering projectsStrong knowledge of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation
• Experience producing calculations, specifications and technical designs
• Ability to coordinate effectively with electrical engineers, BIM teams and other disciplines
• Comfortable dealing with clients and attending project meetings
• Ability to review work and provide technical support to junior engineers
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of your workload
