Job summary

Owen Daniels in Sutton, Surrey, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s established design team, supporting the development and modification of sheet metal and electromechanical products. You will play a key role in developing practical, manufacturable solutions for a range of customer requirements, working closely with manufacturing, customers and the wider design team.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD and mechanical design experience.
• Experience with sheet metal and/or machined components.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately within a fast-turnaround manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Modify and develop existing products to create bespoke variants in line with customer requirements.
• Design and develop sheet metal, machined and electromechanical components and systems.
• Produce accurate CAD designs and engineering drawings.
• Work with steel and aluminium, considering manufacturability and sustainability throughout the design process.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and shop-floor teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for production.
• Respond to customer requirements and provide effective design solutions.

Mechanical Design Engineer
