CIBSE Journal is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team near Winchester in Hampshire. The role focuses on creating 3D assemblies from layout concepts and generating 2D GA and fabrication drawings on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years' experience, with strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, motors and mechanical assemblies, plus proactive, independent work and good communication skills. Travel to project sites is required.

Mechanical Design Engineer

GBP51– 57k per annum

Our client, an international engineering organisation with a base near Winchester, is now looking to recruit a Design Engineer (3D) to join the business on a permanent basis.

Primary Role Functions:

To create/generate/design 3D assemblies from preliminary layout drawings and concepts with the aim to then produce 2D GA and detail drawings for fabrication.

Job requirements:

• Hold clean UK driving license.
• A Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar related degree).
• 5+ years related job experience.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application in industrial designs including knowledge / specification of hydraulic systems, motors & mechanical systems.
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem–solving skills, able to work independently or in team environment.
• Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
• Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
• Travel as required to support projects.
