Job summary

Close Resource Management Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent role in Hampshire/Southampton. You will design 3D assemblies, generate 2D GA and detailed drawings for fabrication, and support development from concept to production.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, and is proficient in hydraulics, motors and related systems. A clean UK driving licence and travel willingness are required.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Hampshire, Southampton, Winchester, Romsey.

Salary: £44 - 56k per annum.

Our client, an international engineering organisation with a base near Winchester, is now looking to recruit a Design Engineer (3D) to join the business on a permanent basis.

Primary Role Functions

To create/generate/design 3D assemblies from preliminary layout drawings and concepts with the aim to then produce 2D GA and detail drawings for fabrication.

Job Requirements

• Hold “clean” UK driving licence.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar related degree).
• 5+ years related job experience.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application in industrial designs including knowledge/specification of hydraulic systems, motors & mechanical systems.
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem‑solving skills, able to work independently or in team environment.
• Efficiently organise and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
• Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
• Travel as required to support projects.
