Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services / MEP

Near Southampton, Hampshire – Hybrid Working

£35k - £55k DOE, + benefits including pension, flexible working hours and cycle to work scheme

This building services design role is to join a highly professional friendly team of specialist design engineers. They are a collaborative group who have built a supportive culture where you will quickly feel like part of the team. They are involved in a wide range of projects including education, super prime luxury residential, office builds, retail and high density residential, always maintaining a focus on sustainable design.

Responsibilities

Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design
Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
Designing site-specific equipment as required
Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
Carrying out condition surveys and providing recommendation reports to clients

Experience Required

Accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
Post degree qualification experience in Building Services or Mechanical engineering, experience with running projects including calculations, drawings, specifications, etc
Experience of industry standard software
