Job summary

Cameron Clarke Associates is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Rochdale operation. Based at a modern facility in Rochdale, you will design industrial burners and energy centres using SolidWorks, maintain documentation and collaborate with the shop floor across multiple projects.

You will engage with a tight-knit mechanical engineering team, perform site visits when required and contribute to bespoke energy solutions for blue-chip clients across the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering experience required.
• SolidWorks expertise and experience using the tool.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent time management and organisation.
• Effective communication with internal teams and shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial burners, heating equipment and energy centres.
• Use SolidWorks for mechanical design and simulation.
• Work with ePDM and other simulation tools.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, manuals and parts lists.
• Collaborate with the shop floor to monitor progress on jobs.
• Liaise with the mechanical engineering team across projects.
• Carry out site visits for pre-installation checks as required.

Mechanical Design Engineer | Rochdale, Greater Manchester OL11 2SL | Full Time | £36,000 - 50,000 per annum

Our client is a world-class market leader in the manufacture of automatic combustion equipment, exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and serving a broad range of blue-chip customers. Based at their Rochdale headquarters, which includes an 8-acre production facility, they are continuing to expand their team.

The Role

You will be a key part of the mechanical engineering team, designing industrial burners, associated heating equipment and complete energy centres. Using SolidWorks for design and simulation, you will work on a variety of bespoke projects, while maintaining accurate technical documentation and liaising with the shop floor to monitor project progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Design industrial burners, associated heating equipment and energy centres
• Use SolidWorks for mechanical design and simulation
• Work with ePDM and other simulation tools
• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, manuals and parts lists
• Work closely with the shop floor to monitor the progress of ongoing jobs
• Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team across multiple projects
• Carry out site visits for pre-installation checks as required

Requirements

Essential

• Proven engineering experience
• A solid understanding of SolidWorks and previous experience using it
• Good documentation skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Organised, with the ability to work on own initiative
• Effective communication skills

Desirable

• Experience using ePDM and simulation tools
