Job summary
Marstep Resourcing Solutions in Oxford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver engineering activities on real‑world projects. You will develop safe, compliant solutions, produce drawings and technical reports, and support the project lifecycle with strong CAD capability.
The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks, and a practical, hands‑on approach with good communication. A structured development plan and accreditation support are provided.
Qualifications
- Degree or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (HND or equivalent considered with relevant experience)
- Strong 3D CAD capability (Creo or SolidWorks)
- Experience generating engineering designs and drawings
- Knowledge of GD&T, limits & fits, and design for manufacture
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles (mechanics, dynamics, materials)
- Experience with electric motors, rotating machinery, actuation systems, bearings and seals
- Engineering design, analysis, calculations and problem‑solving experience
- Experience preparing engineering documentation (reports, specifications, calculations)
- Technically inquisitive, proactive and solutions‑focused
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Practical, hands‑on approach
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable across multiple projects

- Engineering design, analysis, calculations and technical assessments
- Producing and maintaining engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, reports and calculations
