Job summary

A multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will lead HVAC design projects, interact with clients, and mentor junior engineers. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in HVAC design, with a clear path to become a Senior Engineer. The position offers a competitive salary of up to £48K and a hybrid working model, providing flexibility to work from abroad for up to two weeks.

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer – To £48K

Due to securing several high-rise mixed-use developments in London, this multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a reliable Mechanical Design Engineer.

Supported by a friendly, easy-going, and approachable Chartered Associate Director, you’ll enjoy as much responsibility and autonomy as you want. If you’re up for it, you’ll have the chance to lead projects, mentor engineers, and assist with design management.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll interact directly with clients and act as the single point of contact for all aspects of HVAC design. You’ll attend DTMs, deliver client presentations, assist with fee bids, allocate resources, and oversee the work produced by junior and graduate engineers.

This role will suit a client-facing Mechanical (Building Services) Design Engineer who enjoys seeing projects progress from feasibility through to construction, and who is looking for a clear path to Senior Engineer.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HVAC design within a consultancy or design & build contractor.


• Experience in residential, hotel, education, or mixed-use projects.


• Proven experience delivering projects from feasibility, concept, and detailed design, through to supervising installation and commissioning of MEP services.


• Ideally, some experience in producing Public Health (above-ground) services.


• Salary up to £48K
