Job summary

Elastic Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Leeds team, delivering high‑quality building services across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public sector schemes. You will lead mechanical design, run calculations, produce specifications and drawings, and present to clients from inception to completion.

The role emphasizes design excellence, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and contribution to low‑carbon building solutions in a hybrid working

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Building Services mechanical design experience
• Mechanical or Building Services Engineering qualification
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems
• Experience across multiple project/design stages
• Knowledge of building regulations and UK/European standards
• CIBSE membership / Chartership progression advantageous
• BREEAM, HTM and renewable technology knowledge beneficial

Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical design on selected projects

• Acting as a client-facing engineer throughout project delivery

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Leeds

Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid

I’m looking to speak with experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers interested in joining a growing Building Services & Low Carbon Engineering Consultancy.

This position offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership of projects while working across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, pharmaceutical, public sector and low-carbon/net-zero schemes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading mechanical design on selected projects
• Producing calculations, specifications and drawings
• Acting as a client-facing engineer throughout project delivery
• Working across projects from inception through to completion
• Providing technical guidance to junior engineers
• Designing sustainable and low-carbon building services solutions
• Attending project meetings and delivering client presentations

Ideally you'll have:

• 5+ years' Building Services mechanical design experience
• Mechanical or Building Services Engineering qualification
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems

• Revit and relevant building services software experience
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and UK/European standards
