Overview

We re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast–growing robotics and automation company. You ll design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, collaborating with software and electrical teams to deliver high–performance, manufacturable systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design assemblies and components in SolidWorks
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and design reviews
  • Optimise designs for cost and manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
  • Assist with system improvements and troubleshooting
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 3 5 years' experience in mechanical design (ideally in robotics or automation)
  • Strong SolidWorks skills (assemblies, drawings, simulation)
  • Knowledge of gears, actuators, motion components
  • Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing
  • Understanding of GD&T and FEA tools
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with PDM systems
  • Knowledge of robotic arms or conveyors
  • Familiarity with pneumatic/electromechanical systems
  • Awareness of safety standards (ISO, ANSI/RIA)
