We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in critical power and power generation solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience across power generation, generators, engines, industrial equipment or complex engineered systems to take a key role in the design and delivery of technically challenging projects.
Based from the company's Derbyshire operation with hybrid working available, you will work on major projects across sectors including data centres, critical infrastructure, healthcare, industrial and utility applications.
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, validation and lifecycle support of diesel, gas and hybrid generator systems, ensuring mechanical integrity, reliability, compliance and performance.
You will work across the full project lifecycle, from initial design and engineering through manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.

Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience specifically with generator sets, diesel/gas engines, power generation, data centres or critical power systems would be highly advantageous, but candidates from closely related heavy engineering or industrial equipment environments are also of interest.
£60,000 – £70,000 basic salary, depending on experience, alongside hybrid working and the opportunity to work on major engineering projects within the critical power sector.
