Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

• Perform mechanical design and detailing functions for a range of bespoke machinery projects using 3D CAD

• Negotiate with external suppliers and obtain the most cost–efficient materials in line with project budgets and time plans

• Visit customer sites as appropriate to fully understand customer requirements and to document and communicate all such requirements to the customer and internal staff.

• Assess and improve design concepts along with a team at sales quotation stage to reduce risks, costs, lead times

• Conduct project reviews with customers on a periodic basis as agreed with the customer, documenting all issues and reporting on the status of each project

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person:

• Competence in Mechanical Design, robotics, automation, design of mechanical mechanisms and pneumatic systems would be an advantage

• Degree qualified HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline

• Expert user of 3D CAD either SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Inventor

• Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully delivering mechanical design projects to required time scale and budget

• Knowledge and understanding of the various national and international standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE marking.

Located in Leicestershire , this role would be commutable from within and around the following areas: Coventry, Leicester, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Market Harborough.
