Job summary

Hunter Selection | B Corp™ is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Dursley. You will own challenging aviation projects, working on airframe and propulsion design from concept through manufacture, and collaborating with customers and suppliers across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering project-level technical work with ownership of delivery.
• Strong 3D CAD capability using NX, Creo, CATIA or Inventor.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and design oversight.
• Analytical and structured, with evidence-led problem solving.
• Understanding of regulatory and certification requirements.
• Commercial judgement and awareness of business priorities.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take ownership of technically challenging projects within the Aviation industry? This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering business, working across structural airframe and propulsion programmes while developing innovative design solutions from initial concept through to manufacture. You will gain broad technical exposure, collaborate directly with customers and suppliers, and the opportunity to work on Legacy aircrafts!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Take a key role across established structural airframe and propulsion design programmes
• Develop complete engineering solutions and guide them through internal review and approval
• Ensure designs meet relevant technical standards, customer requirements and certification criteria
• Create high-quality 3D CAD models and fully detailed manufacturing drawings
• Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes

What You'll Bring:

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline
• A proven background in engineering design, with ownership of project-level technical delivery
• Strong 3D CAD capability using Siemens NX, Creo, CATIA, Inventor or a comparable platform
• The confidence to provide technical leadership, coaching and constructive design oversight
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, evidence-led approach to problem-solving
• An understanding of relevant regulatory and certification requirements
• Sound commercial judgement and an appreciation of wider business priorities
