This Mechanical Design Engineer role is to join an established building services design consultancy with an excellent reputation and great friendly culture. Projects are varied and include commercial, residential, education and leisure.

The overall purpose of the role is to work in an intermediate or senior level role within a multi-discipline mechanical and electrical building services team, providing design and technical advice on projects. As part of this skilled design team you will provide a professional and technical consulting and design service encompassing site surveys, feasibility studies, due diligence, design, technical reports and specifications, commissioning, and defects inspections.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage and supervise projects, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables
• Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved.
• Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs.
• Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings.
• Monitor project progress, design variations and project financial budgets.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum academic qualification of HNC or equivalent in building services or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience of mechanical design within building services
• Client facing skills would be beneficial although not essential
• Thorough knowledge of statutory legislation and standards
