Job summary

TBG Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Chesterfield to take customer engineering requirements and develop bespoke mechanical solutions within time and cost constraints. Design interfaces using both off-the-shelf components and custom parts, creating 3D models and drawing packs for manufacturing.

You will develop blue-sky concepts and provide documentation of activities with revision control, integrating with electrical and electronic solutions.

Qualifications

• ONC Mechanical Engineering minimum.
• Fixture, enclosure & sheet metal design experience.
• BS8888 knowledge.
• Geometric tolerancing knowledge.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Experience creating 3D/2D drawings and models.
• Desirable: electromechanical experience.
• Desirable: 5+ years SolidWorks experience

Responsibilities

• Generate new concepts and present them to audiences.
• Create engineering data to support cost-effective designs.
• 3D modelling and 2D detailing using SolidWorks.
• BOM generation and updates with change control.
• Participate in project meetings on and off site.
• Support production build and installation activities.
• May be required to perform other duties as requested.

This will involve the use of both commercial off-the-shelf components as well as custom design interfaces.The role will involve the creation of 3D models and drawing packs to allow the manufacturing team to bring to life your designs. This important role will provide an opportunity to design and engineer a wide range of bespoke products which will allow our customers to benefit from our high-quality engineered solutions. The role will also involve the creation of blue-sky concepts and innovative & creative solutions, to a broad range of engineering challenges, presentations and documentation of engineering activities, along with updates and revisions to existing designs ensuring accurate revision control. Designs that will integrate with electronic and electrical solutions.
