Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Burnley to design full machinery using SolidWorks, from concept through to build. The role offers growth within a growing engineering company delivering major projects across the UK and internationally.

You will join a forward‑thinking team, contributing to design iterations, prototyping, and documentation for manufacture, with a focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical interfaces.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Experience designing full machinery.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience managing designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and installation.
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of electrical components and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Research and concept development through to detailed design
• Taking existing designs and adapting them into new machine formats
• Modifying and improving existing equipment and machinery
• Supporting the build and development of prototypes
• Designing fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel
• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
• Producing detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a machinery manufacturer delivering large projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting, innovative role within a business that is entering a significant growth phase. You will be joining a forward thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing full machinery using SolidWorks and taking projects from concept through to build.

The Mechanical Design Engineer must have experience designing full machinery with SolidWorks.
