Job description

Specialist designer and manufacturer developing sub-systems and components across RF, communications & opto-electronics used in high reliability applications across the space, aerospace, defence and oil & gas sectors are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Role Overview

Mechanical design role, covering the full design lifecycle from requirements to prototype and production, working on cutting-edge, customer-facing projects involving RF and opto-mechanical systems for defence, aerospace, and industrial clients.

You will conduct thermal simulations and design enclosures for PCBs and complex electronics.

Essential Requirements

• Mechanical design or related qualification (engineering/technical science)
• Experience in designing electronics, PCB packaging, casings, and enclosures
• Experience with heat transfer and thermal simulations using CAD tools like Creo, SolidWorks, etc.
• Ability to secure SC security clearance
• Willingness to work on-site in the office 3 days a week

Desirable Skills

• Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Inventor
• Experience with optomechanics and integration of optical components
• Background in aerospace or defence industries
• Skills in stress and vibration analysis using relevant tools
• Experience in designing with aluminium
