Job Title:Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:Oxfordshire

Salary: £35,000 £45,000 + benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

A leading manufacturer of scientific instrumentation is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Oxfordshire. This is a great opportunity to work on full product lifecycle projects, from concept through to production.

Responsibilities

  • Design components and assemblies for advanced cryogenic systems
  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure efficient manufacturing
  • Produce BOMs and technical documentation
  • Support product development and provide technical input across teams

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical engineering background
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Understanding of MRP systems and change control
  • Excellent attention to detail and team collaboration skills
