Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Barnsley to join an innovative engineering company. You will design and develop new and existing products, working hands-on with the workshop team and supporting other areas of the business as needed.

Key tasks include creating concept designs, generating detailed drawings and 3D CAD models, and producing BOMs while liaising with production and other departments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, HNC or Apprentice Trained with proven experience within the industry.
• Experience using Solidworks is essential.
• Production of engineering drawings, 3D-CAD models and technical files.
• Automotive Industry experience would be advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to present designs to customers.
• Preparing BOM’s
• Creative mind with good problem-solving skills

Mechanical Design Engineer

Perm, £35k to £42k pa DOE, 40hrs per week, Mon to Fri,

BARNSLEY

I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, to work for one of my clients, an Innovative and Exciting Engineering company based in Barnsley.

Your role, as the Mechanical Design Engineer will involve handling the companies Design and Development of both new and existing products and projects. You will have to be hands on in your approach, liaising and working alongside the Manufacturing team in the workshop and assisting in other areas of the business where required.

Day to day tasks will include:

• Producing concept design ideas
• Producing detailed technical drawings and 3D CAD models
• Analysing customer requirements to create accurate parts and component lists
• Review drawings and prepare drawing documentation
• Reverse Engineering of certain products where required
• Communicate with team members from various departments including Production and Sheet Metal
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

To be successful, you must have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, HNC or be Apprentice Trained with proven experience within the industry. Other keys skills required:

• Experience using Solidworks is essential
• Knowledge of Hypermill CAD/CAM software would be beneficial
• Production of engineering drawings, 3D-CAD models and technical files
• Automotive Industry experience would be advantageous but not essential
• Ability to present designs to customers
• Preparing BOM’s
• Creative mind with good problem-solving skills

You will be required to work 40hrs per week, 8am to 5pm from Mon to Fri.

On-site work ( no remote )

33 days flexible annual leave (inclusive of 8 Stats) with the exception of Christmas ( 3-4 days annual holiday entitlement to be used to cover this period )
