Hunter Savage is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a global engineering client based in Craigavon. The role focuses on designing customer-focused products, creating detailed SolidWorks models and supporting cross-functional teams to deliver innovative designs.

You will work on materials selection, design optimisation and production documentation, with a permanent contract and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar design role.
• Experience using SolidWorks.
• Strong communication and collaborative problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturable product designs.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD (SolidWorks).
• Optimise designs for cost, manufacturability and performance.

The Role:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop innovative, manufacturable product designs.
• Use CAD software, including SolidWorks, to create detailed three dimensional models and engineering drawings.
• Optimise designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturability and efficiency while maintaining product integrity.
• Work with Senior Design Engineers to select appropriate materials, considering cost and performance.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure designs meet specifications and industry standards.
• Produce design documentation, including bills of materials and design reports.

The Person:

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least three years of experience in a similar design engineering role.
• Experience using SolidWorks.
