Job summary

Chippenham-based mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Contracts Supervisor to manage on-site aspects of projects, organise materials and labour, and liaise with clients and consultants.

The role offers a clear progression path toward Project/Contract Management within a growing family business in Chippenham. Salary is around £50k with a company vehicle and standard benefits, and office hours are 8am–4.30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience managing on-site aspects of mechanical projects.
• Understanding of systems installed and ability to propose solutions.
• Involvement in pricing, tenders and basic design ideas as you grow.
• Strong communication with clients and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project pricing, tenders and subcontractor engagement as you grow.

We’re working with a Chippenham based business, who are recruiting for the following permanent Mechanical/Building Services role.

Required: Mechanical Contracts Supervisor

• Office Location: Chippenham
• Employment: Permanent
• Salary: c. £50k (company vehicle provided)
• Holiday entitlement: 24 days, plus Bank Holidays (8 days)
• Office Hours: 8am – 4.30pm
• Construction Project Locations: normally within 60miles of the Chippenham offices

Typical Duties:

The role would be to manage the on‑site aspects of a project, organising the materials and labour. Liaising with the clients and consultants and therefore you’ll have a good understanding of the systems that are being installed, able to offer sensible solutions to on‑site issues and have good computing skills for basic software (excell, emails etc.).

As you grow in this role there will be the opportunity to be involved with project pricing & tenders, basic initial design ideas, sub‑contractor engagement and mechanical project management. The business is growing and therefore there is a clear pathway within the team to grown in this role and move into Project/Contract Management.

Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor, based in Chippenham and established for over 20years. The company has grown year on year and now has an annual sales revenue of £8-9m along with circa 40 staff; they provide a full range of commercial & industrial mechanical (heating, plumbing, air con & ventilation) and electrical design, installations & commissioning services.

Recent projects include: 5 storey office refit, school and gymnasium refurbishment, new primary school, new secondary school, holiday cottage resort (new plant rooms), new Supermarket production unit and new build leisure facility.

Typical installation values: £100k - £250k of mechanical services, although the client does currently have a long running college project where the mechanical services are valued at nearer £700k
