You will produce detailed 2D drawings, 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Fusion 360, collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams.
With at least two years in engineering, you’ll grow toward a Design Engineer role in a site-based role with flexible start/finish times and a company pension.
£37,000 - £43,000 | Dudley | Flexible start and finish times
You're confident using Autodesk Fusion 360. You know your way around 2D drawings, 3D models and mechanical assemblies.
And you're starting to think about how you can get more involved in the design itself.
Perhaps you're already spotting improvements, suggesting changes or looking at a drawing and thinking about how something could work better.
This is your opportunity to take that next step towards becoming a Design Engineer.
As Mechanical CAD Draughtsperson, you'll join an established engineering business in Dudley designing and manufacturing bespoke industrial machinery and automated systems.
No two customer requirements are quite the same, which means you'll have variety in the machinery you're working on.
You'll produce detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D models and assemblies, working alongside experienced engineers and the manufacturing team.
You'll be involved from the initial concept through to the finished machine, giving you the chance to see your drawings become something real.
And there's room to grow.
You'll learn from engineers who understand the machinery inside out, gradually getting more involved in design decisions and developing towards a Design Engineer position.
You may currently be a CAD Technician, Mechanical Draughtsperson, CAD Designer or Mechanical Design Technician.
You'll have at least two years' engineering or manufacturing experience, alongside an apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
Autodesk Fusion 360 is essential. You'll already be using it confidently for 3D modelling, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
As Mechanical CAD Draughtsperson, you'll earn £37,000 to £43,000, depending on experience, with a company pension, annual leave plus bank holidays and flexible start and finish times.
It's a site-based position, keeping you close to the people manufacturing the equipment you're drawing.
So, if you're a Mechanical CAD Draughtsperson who enjoys getting into the detail but wants more involvement in how machinery is designed, this is a chance to build on what you already know and take your engineering career further.
