Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer (Mechanical Systems) for a Middlesborough-based role. You will craft precise 2D/3D CAD designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, participate in prototyping and testing, and coordinate with suppliers on components.

Qualifications

• Experience producing 2D/3D CAD drawings and models.
• Background in industrial machinery design.
• Prototyping, assembly/testing involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for precision-engineered components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs meet customer specifications.
• Review drawings, dimensions and tolerances for accuracy and quality.
• Follow standard working hours: Mon–Thu 08:00–16:45, Fri 08:00–13:30.
