Job summary

VIQU Limited is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Cabin Design Engineer to own safety-critical interior systems from concept through production. You will craft dash/trim panels, doors, floor systems, seating and anchorage while delivering detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration with tooling, manufacturing and suppliers, plus prototype support and validation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on automotive interior design experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/CATIA/NX) for concept to production.
• Knowledge of ABS, PP, GRP, rubber, fabric, foam and sheet metal.
• Experience with vacuum forming, molding and 3D printing.
• Understanding tooling, A/B surfaces and surface finish requirements.
• Working knowledge of ECE R29, R14, R16 and R17.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop dash and trim panels.

VIQU has partnered with an engineering-focused organisation developing advanced vehicle cab systems to recruit a Cab Interior Design Engineer. This is a hands-on role taking ownership of safety-critical interior systems from concept through to production, with a strong focus on compliance, manufacturability and practical engineering.

Key Responsibilities of theMechanical Cabin Design Engineer

• Design and develop dash and trim panels.
• Develop vehicle cab door systems.
• Design floor systems and mats.

Key Requirements of the Mechanical Cabin Design Engineer

• Proven automotive or vehicle cab interior design experience.
• Strong 3D CAD capability using SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or similar.
• Knowledge of ABS, PP, GRP, rubber, fabric, foam and sheet metal.
• Experience with vacuum forming, compression moulding, injection moulding and 3D printing.
• Understanding of tooling, A/B surfaces and surface finish requirements.
• Working knowledge of ECE R29, R14, R16 and R17.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in an engineering-led environment.
• Hands-on experience taking designs from concept towards production.
