Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced engineer to evaluate tenders, coordinate M&E installations and liaise with contractors across Bristol and regional sites. The role blends office-based engineering with on-site oversight to meet project programmes and budget.

Ideal candidates will have an engineering degree or equivalent, strong communication, and proven ability to manage multiple tasks, lead teams, and ensure design and safety compliance across mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in building services or construction.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with clear communication.
• Ability to manage workload and time, and to lead a team when required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate tender returns and quotations for specification compliance and best value.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure order completeness and interface with electrical and construction elements.
• Engineer contractor responsibilities such as fan/pump sizing, bracketry, expansion, and other M&E details.
• Raise and agree Technical Submissions for Mechanical Plant & Equipment.
• Manage delivery of plant and equipment to meet programme, including factory witness testing.
• Produce and approve M&E coordinated installation drawings for programme and budget; sign off for design compliance and safety.
