Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board seeks a passionate Mechanical Bias - Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Craftsperson to support clinical departments by maintaining essential services and complying with statutory legislation.

You will participate in an on-call rota and should have a formal Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship, with knowledge of building services, water systems, generators, ventilation, and decontamination equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with fault finding on complex building services, plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Completed formal craft apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering; Higher National Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering maintenance tasks including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
  • Fault diagnosis, repair and calibration on a wide range of complex engineering plant and equipment.

Job description

Job Overview
  • Ensuring all essential services are maintained to support clinical departments in their prime task of treating patients whilst ensuring all statutory legislation is complied with.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled to appropriate levels of quality in a compliant manner.
  • Perform engineering maintenance work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
  • Responsible for fault diagnosis, repair and calibration on a wide range of complex engineering plant and equipment.
  • Installation of new equipment and also new electrical/mechanical services.
To provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors by:
  • Ensuring all essential services are maintained to support clinical departments in their prime task of treating patients whilst ensuring all statutory legislation is complied with.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled to appropriate levels of quality in a compliant manner.
  • Perform engineering maintenance work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.

Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic self motivated Mechanical Bias -Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Craftsperson to work within a large organisation. Although this role is multi-faceted, in this instance we are looking for experienced individuals that have gained their career experience within an Mechanical engineering maintenance background.

You should have experience of fault finding on complex building services, plant and equipment to a high level of competence and be able to work on own initiative.

Knowledge of systems such as Building Management Systems, water systems and their infrastructure, emergency stand by generators, ventilation, decontamination equipment, etc. would be desirable.

You will participate in an out of hrs on Call rota.

You should have completed a formal craft apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering and preferably have attained an academic qualification to Higher National Certificate of Engineering standards.
