Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is recruiting for an Assembly Fitter opportunity in Bedfordshire. You will read engineering drawings, assemble and test mechanical units, and maintain quality and safety standards throughout production.

Ideal candidates have around four years in manufacturing assembly, a mechanical qualification, and strong use of measuring tools. You will work with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality, with a focus on 5S and documentation in ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• 4 years' experience in a manufacturing fitting/assembly role.
• Qualification in a mechanical discipline.
• Experience using a range of tools.
• Competent using measuring equipment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical units and components.
• Rig and de-rig units safely and correctly.
• Carry out pressure testing on components and completed units.
• Use a range of measuring equipment and produce dimensional and inspection reports.
• Safely use air-powered and electrical tools.
• Paint and prepare units for despatch.
• Complete relevant documentation and update the ERP system.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure Right First Time and On Time in Full.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S principles.
• Follow all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
• Report any issues or deviations to the relevant Manager or Supervisor.
