Job summary

Saica Group is seeking a talented Mechanical Area Engineer to join our Engineering team at Carrington. This hands-on role combines technical maintenance excellence with reliability improvement and contractor management to maximise asset performance.

You will lead RCA investigations, develop and implement maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance and efficiency within a heavy-industrial setting.

Qualifications

Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship completed.
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering completed.
HNC/HND or degree in related engineering discipline preferred.
Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

Promote and maintain high standards of HSE/Quality across maintenance activities.
Coordinate mechanical maintenance, shutdowns and contractor activities to maximise asset reliability.
Develop and maintain maintenance documentation including SOPs, RAMS and work orders (Maximo CMMS).
Monitor maintenance KPIs and asset condition to identify improvement opportunities.
Lead troubleshooting and RCA investigations to improve reliability and efficiency.
Support development of preventive, predictive and RC maintenance strategies for critical assets.
Drive continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
