Job summary

Interaction - York is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our inspection team. You will conduct vehicle inspections at multiple BCA sites and report findings via PDA templates, with travel across regions.

You should have an NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance, solid mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with diagnostics, software updates, and hybrids. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of diagnostics, software updates, and hybrid/electric systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections following procedures and report findings via a PDA template.
• Complete used vehicle condition reports.
• Collaborate with team to maintain daily site inspections.
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Travel to BCA sites within the agreed region; occasional longer travel as needed.

Job description

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

£13.99 per hour (£30,917.90k annually) plus bonus (OTE around £35k)

Hours - 8.15am-5.45pm Wednesday to Sunday OR Saturday to Wednesday

As a Vehicle Inspector, you'll be responsible for:

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template
• Complete used vehicle condition reports
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery
• Travel to various BCA sites within your agreed region will be regular, however, travel to further distances will be expected if and when needed

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• An understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous)
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
