Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking a skilled mechanic to service and repair cars to high standards, while embracing the latest vehicle technology. You will work with a team, ensure safety and quality, and have opportunities to train as an EV accredited Technician.

Overtime is paid at time and a half and annual salary reviews are offered, with generous leave and healthcare benefits. The role includes a clear career path with salary progression and performance bonuses, in a Perth-based Citroen service

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and relevant automotive experience.
• Ability to work independently or in a busy team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver work to high standards and deadlines.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach with ability to follow written and spoken instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing if authorised.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure roadworthiness.
• Keep equipment and tools in good condition and follow checklists.

Essential Skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approachThe ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions
• A full driving licence

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
• Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised)
• Road testing vehicles to check repairs
• Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
• Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
• Completing all documentation to the required standard
