Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking a skilled Mechanic to prepare vehicles to a high standard, servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of manufacturers and models. You will work safely, follow checklists and ensure documentation is complete, while contributing to a capable, motivated team.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3.
• Ability to work independently or in a busy team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to check repairs have been completed correctly.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.

Essential Skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions
• A full driving licence

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
