Serco is seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join the fleet team in the Charnwood area, with occasional cover at Derbyshire. The role involves repairing, maintaining and inspecting Serco commercial vehicles in a well-equipped workshop, following DVSA guidelines to keep vehicles safe and roadworthy.
You will inspect, diagnose and repair faults, perform brake tests, and maintain accurate records while supporting safety and efficiency of our fleet. A clean, safe workshop is essential.
Location: Charnwood, LE12 7TZ with occasional cover at Derbyshire Dale's DE4 4HN
Salary: £22.22 per hour (£46,215 per annum) plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours available

Working in a well-equipped workshop environment, you’ll be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of Serco commercial vehicles within our fleet maintenance facilities. All work will be carried out in line with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
The vehicles you maintain support important services that communities rely on, giving your work real purpose and helping to create a positive impact on communities. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our fleet compliant and reliable. This is a hands‑on position where your technical expertise will be used to carry out thorough inspections, diagnose and repair faults, and ensure vehicles fully meet standards.
Eligibility to work in the UK and completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire will be required as part of the recruitment process.
