Baker Hughes is seeking an MD Material & Planning Senior Manager to lead end-to-end planning, material readiness, and inventory performance for the Manifold & Distribution business. You will translate demand into one executable plan across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and global yards.
You will drive innovative inventory strategies, manage capacity risks, and lead a cross-functional planning organization to deliver business results in a hybrid manufacturing-yards environment.
Do you enjoy driving inventory optimization, asset utilization, and supply chain performance across a global organization?
Are you passionate about materials planning, operational excellence, and leading teams to deliver business results?
Our Supply Chain organization plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, asset utilization, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency across our global operations. We are looking for an MD Material & Planning Senior Manager who is passionate about inventory management, materials planning, asset optimization, and driving business performance through cross-functional collaboration and strategic execution.
The M&D Material & Planning Leader owns the end-to-end planning, material readiness and inventory performance of the Manifold & Distribution business, translating project/customer demand into one credible and executable plan across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and the global fabrication-yard network.
The scope covers a broad range of subsea equipment including manifolds, PLEM/PLET, riser bases, ILTs, HIPPS, SSIVs, jumpers and connection systems. Baker Hughes publicly reports an installed base of more than 170 manifolds.
The role is particularly important as M&D moves toward a hybrid Manufacturing + Yard execution model, combining a global fabrication network with an increasing level of repeatable scope executed through internal manufacturing.
Own the M&D Master Production Schedule: Create one forward-looking plan defining what needs to be built, where and when, aligned with project/customer priorities and execution capability.
Own Material & MRP Readiness: Translate demand into the right material signals, identify shortages and long-lead risks early, and drive Procurement/Sourcing actions to ensure material is available when required.
Own M&D Inventory: Own the overall inventory position and performance of the M&D business, balancing material availability with inventory efficiency and driving actions on excess, ageing and obsolete inventory.
Integrate Project Demand with Execution: Connect Projects → Engineering → MPS/MRP → Materials/Sourcing → Manufacturing/Yards → Customer Delivery, creating one aligned execution plan across the business.
Manage Capacity & Execution Risk: Ensure demand is achievable against internal manufacturing and external-yard capacity, engineering readiness and material availability, identifying and escalating constraints early.
Support the Industrialisation of M&D: Enable the transition of appropriate repeatable scope toward a Manufacturing model, including UTA/SDU Lite, Manifold Valve Blocks and potentially coupler-tail welding, while establishing the planning and material strategy needed to support this shift.
Lead the M&D Planning Organisation: Set priorities and drive planning discipline across Master Scheduling, Material Planning, Production Planning and Product/Project Delivery Planning, creating one integrated planning organisation.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
Have strong experience in inventory management, order management, inventory optimization, and asset utilization.
Demonstrate solid knowledge of Oracle, MRP, and inventory management processes.
Possess experience working in complex supply chain and manufacturing environments.
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, influence stakeholders, and manage relationships across functions and regions.
Have experience developing and executing inventory strategies, while balancing strategic planning with operational execution.
Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and team development capabilities, with supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS) being an advantage.
