Job summary

Baker Hughes in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality production while driving world-class performance. You will guide Operations Managers and cross-functional teams to shape site strategy and delivery.

The role focuses on continuous improvement, workforce planning, and collaboration with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning, HR and HSE to optimize output and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a complex manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Track record of delivering improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence.
• Experience leading multiple production areas through leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations across multiple production areas with safe, high-quality execution.
• Coach and develop Operations Managers to build accountability and performance.
• Drive delivery performance by meeting production schedules and customer commitments.
• Monitor and improve metrics across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory and cost.
• Lead operational reviews, escalation processes, and recovery plans to mitigate risks.
• Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, labor utilization, and capacity.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning, HR, HSE and other stakeholders to optimize factory performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, cost reduction and excellence.

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of products while driving world-class operational performance. You will lead Operations Managers and cross-functional teams, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in shaping the site's manufacturing strategy and future growth.

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for

• Leading manufacturing operations across multiple production areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
• Coaching and developing Operations Managers to build a culture of accountability, engagement, and performance excellence.
• Driving delivery performance by ensuring production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.
• Monitoring and improving key operational metrics across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and cost.
• Leading operational reviews, escalation processes, and recovery plans to resolve manufacturing challenges and mitigate business risks.
• Managing workforce planning, resource allocation, labor utilization, and capacity management across manufacturing operations.
• Partnering with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning, HR, HSE, and other key stakeholders to optimize factory performance.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, cost reduction, and overall operational excellence.

• Have significant leadership experience within a complex manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of leading multiple production areas through operational leadership teams.
• Have successfully delivered measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
• Possess strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Have experience managing large, multi-disciplinary manufacturing organizations.

• Have experience in production management, workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity planning activities.
