The Mayor’s Office in London seeks a senior Communications Lead to oversee high-quality media engagement for the Mayor, Deputy Mayors and senior advisers, with a focus on London and national media. You will drive press coverage around key priorities, collaborate with digital teams and content creators, and prepare briefings for the Mayor.

You will work closely with the Mayor and senior team, including staffing events and managing media.

Qualificações

• Experience coordinating media and public relations in a political or complex organisation.
• Ability to write high quality briefings for senior leaders under time pressure.
• Strong network of print, broadcast and online journalists and reporters.

Responsabilidades

• Provide high-level media and communications advice to the Mayor and Mayoral appointees and GLA teams.
• Develop and maintain a network of key press contacts and manage media relationships.
• Lead briefing, Q&A and speechwriting support for the Mayor as required.
• Work with the digital team to ensure priorities are communicated across news and social channels.
• Staff events and manage media liaison, including overseas engagements when needed.
• Contribute to cross-organisational comms campaigns and manage multi-department projects.
