Job summary

Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group is seeking a Safe Staffing and Workforce Assurance Matron to lead safe staffing across clinical areas in Lincoln. You will monitor staffing metrics, coordinate rosters, and collaborate with clinical leads to address risks and support recruitment and workforce planning.

The role requires strong leadership, governance understanding, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or registered healthcare professional with current registration and substantial post-qualification clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience across multidisciplinary teams and quality initiatives.
• Strong skills in workforce planning, rota management, and safe staffing assessment using relevant tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills for collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of governance, patient safety, and risk management within NHS settings.
• Ability to analyze staffing and performance data, produce reports, and make evidence‑based recommendations.
• Experience in change management and implementing new processes to improve service delivery.
• Commitment to inclusive, person‑centred care and staff wellbeing.
• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent; management certification desirable.
• Flexibility to work across clinical sites within Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe staffing levels and workforce deployment across designated clinical areas.
• Monitor staffing data, coordinate rota adjustments, and ensure appropriate skill mix.
• Support escalation processes and contribute to workforce planning and recruitment initiatives.
• Provide visible leadership on wards and in community settings to guide staff.
• Prepare reports and contribute to governance meetings; support quality improvement projects.
