Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school in Stockport. As a Maths Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of Maths within school, working closely with both students and teachers.

This role will start in September and will run full-time until the end of the academic year (July 2026). The working hours are 8:30am until 3pm Monday to Friday.

The school is situated in the heart of Stockport, only a short walking distance away from local tram and bus stops. There is also a large onsite car park for members of staff using a vehicle.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting the Maths department in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  2. Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help with their Maths studies
  3. Conducting small group activities to reinforce learning objectives
  4. Marking and providing constructive feedback on student work
  5. Promoting a positive learning environment within the classroom
  6. Collaborating with teachers to create resources and materials for lessons
Requirements:
  1. A bachelor's degree in Maths or a related field is preferred
  2. Previous experience working with secondary school students is advantageous
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  6. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
