Job summary

Vetro Education is recruiting a passionate Maths Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in Pontypool, South Wales. You will deliver engaging Maths lessons, support students across KS3 and KS4, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate has QTS or equivalent, strong Maths knowledge, and excellent classroom management. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential. This is a full-time role with competitive daily rates.

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Commitment to safeguarding and Enhanced DBS check.
• Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs and encourage participation.
• Assessing and providing feedback to support student progress.

• Collaborating with the Mathematics Department to maintain high teaching standards.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Maths Supply Teacher, you'll play an important role in maintaining high-quality teaching and supporting student progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students of varying abilities.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs and encourage student participation.
• Supporting student progress through assessment, feedback and targeted learning activities.
• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Working alongside the Mathematics Department to ensure continuity of learning and maintain high teaching standards.
• Supporting the wider school community through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.

What Are We Looking For?

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
