Vetro Education is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Pontypool. You will deliver engaging KS3/KS4 science lessons, plan creative activities and monitor progress to raise student achievement.

Qualified teachers with QTS and EWC registration are encouraged to apply; Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential. A DBS check will be completed as part of safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level (KS3/KS4).
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management.
• Welsh language skills desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing (Enhanced DBS).

Pay: £173 per day minimum

What Will You Be Doing?

• Delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, making learning accessible and enjoyable for students of all abilities.
• Planning creative and practical lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking and scientific understanding.
• Monitoring student progress through assessments, constructive feedback and differentiated learning activities.
• Creating a positive classroom environment that promotes engagement, achievement and effective behaviour.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum resources, share best practices and improve student outcomes.
• Supporting departmental development by contributing to the school's commitment to raising standards and delivering high-quality Science education.

What Are We Looking For?

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level, with the ability to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching students of varying abilities.
• A genuine passion for inspiring young people and improving student outcomes.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing, including an Enhanced DBS Check.
