Job summary

Outcomes First Group is hiring a Maths Teacher at Groveside School in Reading. The role is permanent, term-time only, starting September 2026, with a salary of £45,000 per year and a £1,000 Welcome Bonus. UK applicants only; sponsorship not available.

You will teach maths to pupils with SEND, ASD and SEMH, building supportive relationships and adapting learning to individual needs. You will shape the Maths provision, contribute to school improvement and uphold safeguarding, recording and pupil

Qualifications

  • QTS qualification or equivalent required.
  • Experience teaching Maths and working with pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Resilience and confidence to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve more than they thought possible.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Monitor and assess progress using data to identify next steps and raise achievement.
  • Develop personalised learning and behaviour plans with colleagues and other professionals.
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and motivated to learn.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and self-regulation.
  • Collaborate with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent support.
  • Contribute to Maths curriculum development and school improvement priorities.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, communication and pupil wellbeing.

Location: Groveside School, Reading, RG2 7AY
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata) plus a Welcome Bonus of £1000*
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

  • Work collaboratively with Teachers, Learning Support Assistants, Care and other professionals to provide consistent support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum and wider school improvement priorities.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, communication, record keeping and pupil wellbeing.
What you will bring

  • QTS qualification or equivalent required
  • Experience teaching Maths and working with pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour.

Groveside School is a Special Educational Needs School for Pupils 7 - 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils.
